Biography
Tomi Toikka is a founder, entrepreneur, game designer, creative director, and CEO hailing from Tampere, Finland.
With over a decade of experience in the gaming industry, Tomi Toikka serves as the CEO, Founder, and Creative Director of Makea Games. The studio is dedicated to constructing a multiplayer universe fueled by user-generated content (UGC) for both PC and consoles. Tomi’s overarching mission is to develop games that embrace chaos, fostering creativity, and to establish a platform where players can freely express themselves and engage in collaborative endeavors.
Within Makea Games, Tomi takes charge of the overall vision, strategy, and development of the games, along with responsibilities in marketing, branding, and community management. Notably, he assumes the role of Creative Director for Supermoves, Makea Games’ UGC-powered parkour showdown game.
Before Makea Games, Tomi was the CEO, Founder & Creative Director at Catland, where he shipped Taphouse VR and The Spy Who Shrunk Me. For both projects, Tomi worked as the writer, producer and director as well.
Furthermore, Tomi Toikka holds the position of Founder and Board Member at Tampere Game Hub, an association dedicated to supporting and connecting game developers and entrepreneurs in the region. Additionally, he serves as the Mentor and Co-Founder of Finnish Game Incubator, a program committed to assisting aspiring game makers.
